St. Mark’s Inclement Weather Policy

If Fairfax County Public Schools closes campuses, all activities except worship are canceled except worship, which is at the discretion of the pastors. Of course, we always want you to make the safest decision for your family.

Sunday School … Sundays at 11:00 AM

First day of classes is Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Class Locations and Leadership:

  • Ages 3 to 3rd Grade: Room 216. Led by Miss Mirna, Miss Christina, and Miss Marth

  • Grades 4th through 6th: Room 218. Led by Miss Harriet and a rotating group of volunteers.

Class Curricula:

  • Younger Class: Will follow Bible stories from the Sunday Lectionary.

  • Older Class: Will focus on using their Bibles to learn about people and places in the Bible.

Registration for children’s activities can be found HERE—please open the document from the link, print it out, fill it in, and return it to the Church office.

Join Us for Sunday School!

An Invitation for Children and Volunteers

Sunday School begins at 11:00 AM on September 20!

We’re excited to invite all children ages 3 through 6th grade to join us for Sunday School! Each child receives a Bible that we’ll read together each week, making the stories of faith come alive in meaningful ways.

Our dedicated teachers—Christina Triolo, Mirna Melara, and Martha Flanagan—lead the Preschool through 3rd grade classes. Their lessons include time in their Story Bible, engaging short videos, and a variety of hands-on activities.

For children in 4th through 6th grade, each student receives their own Bible and learns how it’s organized while exploring the lives of important people and the places found within its pages. This year students will focus on retention and retelling stories.

We’re also looking for volunteers to help in the 4th through 6th grade class! No preparation is required—just bring your willingness to share and support our young learners.

Our Sunday School Christmas pageant, Carriers of the Light, was a smashing success! Bravo kids and thank you to the volunteers (especially Harriet, Debbie, Gail, Alice, Christina and all our Sunday school teachers) for sharing God's love with our children.
