Passing of Jane Zuidema

With sadness but joy in the promise of resurrection through Christ, we announce the passing into God's eternal presence of our sister Jane Zuidema on May 19.

The memorial service for our sister in Christ Jane has been set for 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 25 at St. Mark’s. We continue to lift up her family in our prayers.

Rest eternal grant her, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her. Amen.

PASSING OF The Rev. Neil Davidson

From the Synod Office:

The funeral service for The Rev Neal Davidson will take place on Saturday, July 11 at 1:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church (3313 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201); a reception will follow. His obituary is available online and the service will be live streamed through the Faith Lutheran website.

Our prayers are with his family and all who knew and loved him. Rev. Davidson was retired but served recently as a supply pastor in several congregations in our synod.

Passing of Hugh Linemann

It is with sadness but hope in the resurrection that we announce the passing of our brother in Christ Hugh Linemann. Hugh peacefully followed our Shepherd’s voice into God’s eternal presence early Sunday morning, May 24.

A memorial service for Hugh will be held at St. Mark’s on Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 AM. It will be followed immediately by a reception in the fellowship hall. Find the service bulletin HERE. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Hugh and Noreen have been longtime volunteers at the Lamb Center, where a memorial service will be offered by Deacon Dave this coming Thursday, June 4 beginning at 1:30 PM. Please keep Noreen in your prayers.

PASSING OF KAREN SMITH

With sadness but joy in the promise of resurrection through Christ, we announce the passing into God's eternal presence of our sister Karen Smith. Our service of Christian burial for Karen was held at St. Mark’s on Monday, March 30, beginning at 10:00 AM, with a reception following. Interment at Quantico National Cemetery concluded our services beginning at 2:00 PM. Find the service bulletin HERE.
