We are a nonprofit, 501c3-designated organization that was founded by St. Mark’s. Our mission is to provide a variety of programs that meet the needs of the community, families, youth, and older adults and to connect them to county and community-based resources.

Thank you to all our volunteers and to all who donated to Hypothermia Week 2023!

There were more than 90 volunteers from 3 churches (St. Mark’s, St. John’s, and St. Bernadette’s) as well as from the local community. We served an average of 35 overnight guests and 7 dinner only guests. We provided Smartcards and Gas Cards, 3 meals a day, cards and games, clothing and toiletries, and had a Bingo night with McDonald gift cards as prizes. It was a great group of people and we had some uplifting conversations. We could not have done it without your support!

Thank You from our guests and from The Life Center!

If you have ideas on how to make our community better, the LIFE CENTER needs you! We are especially looking for ideas from the younger members who may be more in tune to the needs of families and youth. There is no real commitment, to pitch an idea call or text Jeannine Van Nostrand at 703-981-1404 or by email dinzee7@gmail.com. Our meetings are held via Zoom on the 3rd Monday of the month and last for no more than an hour.

St. Mark’s “Safety Day for Kids” and Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest

We had a great Safety Day on Saturday! Around 25 children participated. The police had a call and couldn’t make it, but the fire department came with two fire trucks and an ambulance. The fire department crew and County Supervisor Rodney Lusk had the difficult task of judging all the artwork. They awarded Target gift certificates to the winners. All the kids received a goody bag (made by our very own Quilters).

The kids requested a Dance Competition for our next event, maybe we’ll make it a multi-generational event!
